Meetup Location

  • What is Rock Climbing?

Rockclimbing is an activity in which participants climb up, down or across natural rock formations. The goal is to reach the summit of a formation or the endpoint of a pre-defined route without falling.

  • What is the minimum and maximum age requirement?

Our age minimum is 15. We currently do not have an age maximum. Our oldest client is 82 years old.

  • When is the best time of year to go?

Since SoCal has great weather year round we are lucky enough to run great canyon routes year round. We stick to the Angeles National Forest with a meetup in Newhall, CA to travel together to the crag.

  • Are the guides experienced?

Our staff are some of the most experienced Rock Climbing guides in the country. They are all actively certified by Alpine Training Services and possess wilderness medical training. Combined, the staff has over 400 years of expernience and conducts hundreds of trips each year.

  • How many people can go?

Every trip needs a minimum of 4 people to run and barring special circumstances will have a maximum of 12 clients. Most trips end up with 6-8 people.

  • What can I expect?

First, meeting up with a group of rock climbers at 9:00 AM on your requested trip date in Santa Clarita, CA. Second, a short 20 carpool to the base of the hike. Third, a 25 minute hike to the base of the crag. Fourth, a ton of fun. We will return around 5:00 PM to the meetup location.

  • What do I pack?

Upon registration you’ll receive a packet that includes a to-bring list. You’ll  need lunch and water. We supply layers to wear and all the technical gear including helmets.

  • Is it safe?

We do our best to ensure the safety of our clients. You will have to sign a waiver when you participate and agree that there are elements beyond our control. Rock Climbing as a sport is quite safe and The ATS Team as a company is proud to have a perfect safety record to this date.

The Rock Climbing one day guided trip meet up location is,  26925 Sierra Highway, Newhall, CA. Our team will be waiting at the Starbucks in this parking lot to greet all members of the trip.  After meeting at 9:00 AM, the AdventureWorks team will then guide the group in a 20 minute carpool to the base of the hike. From there, the group will take a 25 minute hike to the foot of the crag where we will rock climb.

Each person should bring lightweight hiking clothes and tennis or hiking shoes . No need to bring rock climbing shoes as we will supply those (unless there is a pair you would like). Due to the fact of being in the outdoors all day, each member will need to bring a lunch and plenty of water.

Participants must be over the age of 12, be able to hike uneven terrain while wearing a backpack, weigh less than 300 pounds and have a size 41 inch waist or smaller.
